By "gears", I'm referring to the seniority stars next to our account names to the left of the message

<-----------

I noticed that a bunch of us have downshifted, as it were. Have the requirements for the number of messages posted per gear changed recently? Sorry if this has been addressed before...

Old numbers above. New numbers:
0-9 posts = neutral
10-249= 1st gear
250-499= 2nd gear
500-999= 3rd gear
1000-? = 4th

The largest number of registered members are in neutral (about 1200). about 1000
members are in 1st. About 150 members are in 2nd gear or higher (Putting them in the top
10% of all members by volume of posts). Only 79 folks are in 3rd gear as of today, in the
new system, and only 22, or less than 1% of all members are in 4th or higher. numbers
approximate- I'm sleep deprived and avoiding constructive work !
