Default It has been so long since I had my s-02's, I forget...

What conditions does it take to get them to break traction under acceleration? I switched to supra 712's to save a little money, but they always lose traction under full acceleration when it is:
-Cold (under 50*)
-Even slightly damp

Forget heavy rain or snow, these tires can't even take a WOT trip to redline in first gear between the months of november and march.

I can't remember- do the s-02's still hold when it is cold or the roads are damp?

No

Go read any of the numerous "Spun my car" or "Hit a curb today" threads that have popped up in the last month or so. S02s do not function properly in anything other than ideal conditions. Unless you live here in SoCal (or similar), you won't have ideal conditions for a couple more months.

BE CAREFUL!!!!!

People are spinning in a straight line under mild to moderate acceleration, and still looping it. All depends on road conditions, but we had a guy go out between rainstorms (not here in San Diego ofcourse) and while most of the roads were simply wet, he hit a nice hydroplane and..............even tried to catch it as he was not doing more than 50 under lite throttle, but no.

So I think if your more than half throttle your looking for trouble, and who only gives an S half throttle?!?!?!

(Note to self - don't buy Supra 712s)

I think it must be the cold that really affects the Kumho Ecsta Supras. I ran the stock S-02's last winter and Kumho Ecsta Supras this winter, and have never had any problems. Here in California, it doesn't get that cold, but it does get wet, so I personally think it's the cold of the Midwest that really decreases Saab9-3's traction.

Saab9-3,

Is your car's alignment okay? Just curious, because I can still accelerate at WOT on my Kumho Ecsta Supras when the temperature is 40-something degrees. I've never tried it at any temperatures lower than that, though.
