I almost had a nervous breakdown driving from Chicago to Detroit in a very bad snow storm with stock tires! I think my average speed was 35mph! Snow tires are a must.

I parked the stook in an almost level parking space with 1/2" snow/ice and the original S02's. It took two guys pushing to back the car out of the space.

These reports are not indicative of the S2000's ability in the snow. If you put S02's on any car, including an AWD car, you will still be sliding all over the place with minimal traction. Just feel how hard they are at low temperatures.

Put snow tires on and everything will be fine.

Why are people so surprised that you can't drive an S2000 in winter with the S02's? Even my AWD TT Stealth could not be driven in winter on the stock tires. You MUST have good snow tires. Then this car is just wonderful in the snow. Do you think we are the only ones that drive RWD cars in winter? Do you think taxi cabs and cops stop work just because winter comes? Most of them drive RWD Crown Vics.

So do you guys actually change the rubber and keep the stock rims on or change wheels and tires? I have a winter beater here in the driveway (we actually call it the egg beater ) but it is a family beater not mine. Chances are that I will have to drive my stook in the snow once or twice this winter . Just looking for some info. New York winters can be pretty bad when you live by the ocean.

I bought a separate set of "rock" wheels for my winter tires.

Car Max + $2500 dollars = Winter beater and a car you can park anywhere because you don't care what happens to it.

That's one man's solution.
