Default has anyone tried replacing the carpet?

I am thinking about getting a black carpet set to replace my OEM red. Has anyone tried this on their own? I saw someone on this board who has red leather and black carpet but dont remember who.

I haven't messed with my carpet, but might I recomend that you replace yours with other than OEM carpet? Since the carpet quality is one of the major complaints everyone has, this would be a perfect oppotunity to upgrade yours to something nicer. I would, but can't yet justify the expense with no holes in mine.

Both Shaner and Rick Hesel have replaced their carpets.

I am actually in the middle of replacing my stock carpet (and the trunk) with Wilton III red wool carpet... from a ROLL! It's not easy and since I spent 6 months searching for the carpet (and $750) I'm damn well gonna use it!!!

If I had to do it again... NO CARPET change... It's hard to get a flat piece of carpet to conform to curved unusually shaped contours...

Will keep you updated... and will work until my car is perfect!

Yes, I replaced the red passenger and driver side carpet sections with black. It's a change I would recommend for anyone with the red interior. IMO the red carpet is ungainly, especially since it doesn't match the red leather seat color.

I don't remember the cost of the carpet sections, but they were not expensive, certainly nothing like what Shaner spent for his Wilton wool carpet.

Muz?

This could be a real winner in the near future. If you can get some OEM carpets and have them copied with better quality carpet. Hmmmmmm

Good idea though. If I had a red carpet in my S2000, I think I'd wake up screaming in the middle of the night.
