Has anyone managed to squeeze 186mph (300km/h)

I have gone 138 and the car was feeling very light. I've done 160 in my old 95 civic many times and it was down right scary. The windshied wipers almost ripped off and was hard to stay stright.

I've hit 152-153 (as far as I remember) and it was red line limit on six gear. I did it just to test the max speed... it was scary probably just because it is a roadster don't think I will do it again on it. My car is bone stock 05' AP2.

I drive up and down I-85 going from Greenville, SC to Atlanta and on good straights with no traffic and good visiablity I will top out 5th every chance I get! It is 137 for me with top up. Top down makes a huge difference. The fastest I have gone is 142 in stock trim, with still some of 6th gear left.

When the AP1 was a new model and being tested by car mags, they all came up about the same for top speed -- 155 in FIFTH rev limited. These cars wouldn't do that well in 6th due to drag and power limits. The test cars were all stock, new, and (I asume) broken in.
My math using the mumber of rpm at 60, 80, and such, and compensating a bit for our "overly optimistic" speedometers indicates that 165 would be about the max, if we added enough power to overcome the drag -- because then 6th would be rev limited. To beat that, you'd have to change the diff and add even more power.

i took it up to 124mph on this one wide stretch of highway. it was afternoon, i was in the middle lane, and there were no cars within a mile of me. even then, i didn't really feel safe, but i wanted to see what the car could do.
who the heck would want to go 186 mph? what's the point? would you want to do it for the rush or something? go to a race track for the rush in a controlled environment. one little slip, one little bump, one animal running across the road, one tire blowing out...so many little things can happen that can cause you to crash, and at 186mph, you're not going to survive.
keep it down on the street. just a thought.

Is it possible to get 3.65/3.70 gears on an AP2? If so, would the tranny and the whole car in fact, be stable? reliability?
And it would still need a lot of engine mods to reach max gear speed. Both ap1 and ap2 are drag limited right around 150mph. Roadsters have a good bit of drag to overcome.
