Has anyone had their trunk auto latch fail?
Just curious. She's 3 years old, but that's quite young for a part to fail unless I was unlucky enough to get a bum part. I have an alarm installed that can pop the trunk, but that's not likely to be the cause (unless it somehow burned it out ).
About a week ago I popped the trunk with the alarm remote. When I went to close it, something prevented it from latching closed. I closed the latch by pressing on the latch with my finger, but the remote failed to unlatch it. So, I used my key to pop the latch (the trunk is open this entire time). It closed this time, but won't open with the remote anymore. I've also tried the button in the console with no luck. Just realized I haven't tried the stock remote, but I expect the same thing as the console button...nothing.
I haven't pulled out the multimeter yet, just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with it, and if so, what part did you end up replacing?

LOL, OK I'll check with myself next time I'm available If the alarm is the culprit, it's taken it a good long time to do it, that's for sure. I'll just have to bite the bullet and whip out the ol' multimeter.

Maybe a short somewhere.
It could have fried the motor.
