Default Hardtop wholesale price...

I'm looking at an 04 silverstone, and I was thinking of making an offer where the dealer would throw in an OEM hardtop, but... what is the factory price of the oem hardtops? (I know HTguy sells 'm for 2800+400 S/H). That'll give me a better idea what kind of deal to shoot for.

Also: It's a Nissan dealer... would they get a better (wholesale-ish) price, or just pay the same that I would?

Like I said, the car is an 04 silverstone with 35k miles, right now listed at 23,500. I was thinking of offering 21K, or the asking price if a hardtop is included. Is that a decent offer?

Flagstaff honda sells them for $2500, $2700 shipped. I'd imagine wholesale can't be much lower then that.

If you got it for $23k that includes the hardtop, that'd be a great price. Try it. I don't think it'll fly, but who knows?

If you call up any Honda dealership, they'll quote you around $3k. That includes all the hardware needed to mount the top.

Majestic Honda.

374038 001 1 PANEL, HARDTOP NO COLOR 2693.14 2019.86 Qty:

They sell if for 2019.86. I believe it's the complete hardtop.

They sell a complete short block for a little over $2000.

How much extra is needed to mount one of these?

No, that is not the whole hardtop. That is just the main panel. You will also need the rest of the parts listed ont hat page as well as some other not listed on the page. I will be cheaper if you just buy the top your self. There is a sponsor that is having a GB for 2700 + shipping.

Also, why would a Nissian dealer add a hardtop? If it was a Honda Dealer, then maybe.

I guess it was too good to be true.

So wait, I'm confused.

The nissan dealer has an 04 on their lot, and it does NOT have an OEM top currently? And you want to off less than what they're asking, plus have them BUY you a hardtop?

Not going to happen. That's already a fair price for an 04, and you're WAY lowballing at 21. Asking for a hardtop (that they'd pay retail for) on top of your already ridiculous price, I'd say the chances were slim.

Ok, that answers my question. I thought maybe a Nissan dealer could get a hardtop at less than retail. Maybe it was just stupid of me to think that

BTW, I was not planning on offering 21K for the car *including* a hardtop. I was thinking to offer *either* 21K for the car as is (without hardtop) *or* the asking price (23,500) for the car with the hardtop. Since he probably can't get the HT any cheaper than I can, I'll just forget about the HT offer. I already figured 21K is on the low side, but it's a starting point.

Still... Anybody know what a Honda dealer would pay for an OEM hardtop? Might come in handy if I swing by any Honda dealers.

Well, if they are like some of the dealers in my area - they all (Honda, Nissan, etc.) are owned by one dealership, even though they have different addresses.

It may take work, but who knows.
