I don't believe that weight doesn't include the mounting hardware which is the same weight for both (except for the rear window defrost harness which isn't needed with Mugen.

why do you ask such a question?... is it because you weigh 250+pounds and every lbs counts in a race or something?

I think when you weigh 115lbs it matters even more that you make ur car lighter.. I'm almost to the point that no one's driving the car !!!

Not quite 250lbs.
I've owned over 50 Corvette's and about 20 Honda's and like to drive fast. I like to build them light if I can to get the best power to weight ratio and it helps your gas milage.
The same thing applys to airplanes and helicopters. A 20% weight reduction almost doubles your climb rate.
The Ferrari 355 Berlinetta is over 4% faster than the Spider, because the Spider weighs 200 lbs more, because of the reinforcement of the floor and it has no roof.

I picked up my silver OEM hardtop in so-cal. It is stock, with liner, latches and heated window.
It did feel heavier than 44lbs, so I weighed it on a very acurate scale, that measures 1/4lb's up to 150lbs.
It weighs 53lbs, exactly. So I guess Honda weighed it without anything bolted to it!
Oh well, can't trust everything you read. Butch

^ Good info. Thanks a lot Butch

Another thing to think about is downforce. The mugen top actually creates it (Somewhat like a wing would) while the OEM has little to no effect on downforce.

I went with OEM because I like a defroster and no blind spot .

C-wings < OEM (53lbs.) < Mugen FRP (45lbs.) < Mugen CF (34lbs.) < Spoon Mooncraft (29.5lbs.)

Hope that helps.
