Thanks for your $0.02 Mindcore! I felt so sad that you were board.
I've contacted the dealer and told them I need a new price because the huge project of adding the defroster switch is not applicable.
You guys are the best!
I'm also thinking if I can get the price down, I will let them do it, because I do not have a heated garage and I'm such a weenie when it comes to working on cars in 30 or 40 degrees.

vanowen- thanks for your suggestion about getting the top from Handa Accessories but I did a little checking because I live in Upstate New York.
This is what they said:
The truck freight on the top would be $218.95
There go those savings!!!

You should try to get a better price on the hardtop from your dealer they only pay about $2300 for it so there's a lot of room to deal. I'm getting one for $2519+ installation (I'll have to wait for the 2002MY service Manuel to come out the 2001MY called for 5 hrs). One of the benefits of having Honda do the installation is the Hardtop and all hardware is covered by the 3 yr/36 month warranty and also the extended warranty if you buy it. If you do the installation it's only covered for 1 year.

106Dart - good info about the warranty, thanks! Based upon the $218 to have the product shipped up here to the tundra and the OMG if it gets here damaged, I've decided to go with the dealer.

Schatten - since I went to Handa Accessories and saw the price of $358.80 I completely agree, I will buy and do the install!

I don't have it in writing yet but several times when I spoke to the salesman he said MSRP would not be a problem. Now what I'm working on is 10 or 15% off the accessories.

As I have said before, this site and you people are great, many thanks!

The install involves removing alot of molding to get wires and switch in, but also to change the strike plate where the top clamps to the windshield and also the anchor points for the back portion of the top to clamp to.

Took me about 3 hours. If I could of had the dealer do it for $175, I would have paid.

Once everything is set up it works and looks great.
