hardtop- OEM vs Mugen
#32
They both look good but if you value price, fit and finish it has to be OEM. This was my reasoning when I purchased my HT.
The only way I would have bought a Mugan is if the price were more than a couple of hundred less than OEM and of course it's just the opposite. Mugan is more.

What is more quiet? OEM or Mugen? Same?

This means there is no significant difference between these two tops and the standard soft top.
It would probably take some sound measuring equipment to prove that the HT's really are quieter. They may or may not be but the point is moot.

i have an oem because it came with the car when i bought it, i have light mods done to the exterior such as wheels, coilovers and the oem front lip and i still think oem is the better of the 2 not that either one is a bad choice.
oem ftw
oem ftw

What's the point of getting a convertible and then buy a hardtop? Am I missing something?

You don't have to keep dumping money on the soft when it gets slice open, sun fade, tears, and put through those cold winters. The HT comes in handy for those winters and pervents people from cutting the top open to steal stuff out of your car.

I am not so sure as to how I feel about the OEM hardtop window. I like it on one hand because of our horrible blindspots in the car, but it just looks odd to me. The interior lining of the OEM hardtop is definitely a plus though. I am 6"2 and know I can fit into an s2k with an OEM hardtop.
The mugen definitely looks better, but I dont know about the headroom/noise factor (since it is lighter than OEM). The spoon hardtop is fugly IMO.
