I should have pictures soon.
The top seems very easy to take off. You unhook two latches in the front(the same ones that the softtop uses and there are two lever/knob things you just twist off in the rear. Then you unhook the cable that connects to the window defroster and remove! IT takes two people because of the mere size of it, but it's not too heavy(only 44lbs).

brandon,

Definitely want to see pics. I haven't seen the hardtop on a red car yet. I think the color of the car makes a huge difference on how good the hardtop looks on it.

I was looking at Clive's white car, and the hardtop looks really clean on his car.

So the convertible top goes down when the hardtop is on?

Yeah, the top is down but you cannot put the cover over it. There are also two stoppers that prevent the top from being raised when the hardtop is on.

Congrats, can't wait to see your pics. I have a Spa Yellow with Hardtop on order, I too love the look of the OEM hardtop.

Sorry to hear your story about pricing. I live in Upstate New York and when I did all the math and calculated the shipping charge H&A was not really a savings. The other thing I did not realize, that the forum helped me with, is you will have some warranty coverage on the roof because it was a Honda dealer that did the install. I'm assuming that is still valid even though you added the option after already owning the car for a while.

Enjoy!!!

brandonb - I have no idea if this will be of interest but here are some interesting links regarding a hoist. You can also do a search, there is a lot of stuff on the subject. I will be making a hoist so I don't have to be bothering friends every time I want to put it back on.

Triple-H, thanks for the info. The problem is that I am in college and I live at the dorms so there is not place for me to store my car(or hardtop) or hoist for the hardtop.
Thanks,
-Brandon

I am wondering if keeping the soft top down all winter will put permanent creases in the plastic rear window even if you use a window protector? If so, I guess Honda will have to make good on it. Any one have any thoughts on this?

the plastic window getting creases in it shouldn't be a problem if you use a window protector i use the window tube from Muz, i also have the hardtop and i will post if the plastic window was affected when i take it off

Brandon congratulations it really is amazing how much of a difference the hardtop makes, did you take off the black tape around your front windshield being that your car is red, mine is black so i just left the tape on
