Hardtop Installation

Hardtop Installation
I am about to buy a hardtop and the hardware kit. Where should I get the hardware installed? Is it a DIY? Must the dealer do it? I hear it takes about 6+- hours... Any experience? TIA!

what year is your car?
buy it from hardtopguy.com
i just installed mine last weekend, took about 2 hours. VERY EASY.. the instructions might seem intimidating but it's not hard at all.
if you have 00-01 it will take a bit longer, but still shouldn't be too bad.

I did it myself and it was easier than the instructions made it sound. One person can do it all in about two hours (installing the hardware), except for setting the top on the car and for removal ... this takes two and I have found it to be a little tricky to get the pins to line up on both sides. You'll like the improved visibility and quieter ride. Good Luck

I have a 2001, and I am buying the hardtop used. Thank you SO much for the info and experience. I was expecting 6+hours. I'll just invite an innovative friend over and buy him lunch. I've seen the Hardtop Kit DIY around the internet before, but lost it. Does anyone have the instructions? I think it was PDF. TIA.

Josh is right. You should contact Jeff at Hardtopguy.com. If you are anywhere near Cleveland, it's worth the drive to have him install it. It didn't take very long for him to install mine, it fits like a glove and the price couldn't be beat.
