hardtop hoist
I finally got around to installing a hardtop hoist in the garage. It looks like this:

For people who have this system, when you pull on the rope to lift the top does the hardtop rise evenly? Does the front and the rear rise together? I can't seem to get it to go up evenly. When I pull to raise the top, the rear would go up but not the front. I end up having to pull the rope between the two pulleys to raise the front. I have to raise the back then pull to raise the front and keep alternating until it reaches the top. Am I doing something wrong? I installed it just as depicted in the picture.
Btw, the trickiest part for me was getting the rear rope to latch on correctly. It turns out there are two brackets at the back of the hardtop and the rope (foam part) wraps around these two brackets to hold the rear in place.
I am also concern about the rope damaging the rubber seals. I know the foam is design to protect the seals but I don't know how well the seals will hold up against the constant pressure.

I just installed an EZ-Top hoist in my garage last weekend. My top rises, lowers, and stores level. The frame of the hoist does not come in contact with any of the seals or weatherstripping on the hardtop.
