Default Hardtop help

How do I get off the rear pillar trim to access the bolts on a hardtop? (three bolts on each side as it shows in the handa pdf).

unfortunately, i don't have my helms handy to confirm what i'm about to say, but it's really simple. i believe the side pillar trimming comes off first, then take off the sun visors, then the top trimming.

i highly suggest you get your hands on a helms manual if you plan to do so much as change your oil in your baby. it's been well worth every penny since i use it all the time for the work i do on the car.

Just look up the hardtop install pdf (available on handa's site). It has all the info you'll need.

But it does. Step 17 tells you how to put that trim piece on. This should clue you in as to how to take it off.

Unlike Xviper, I don't have it in front of me However, I've done the HT install twice and the un-install once. Both times were based solely on those directions and both times went smoothly with no problems.

When all else fails, get in the car and look around. I believe you'll find that the rear trim (just behind the seats to either side) is held on by one screw (near the floor) and some clips. If I'm remembering correctly, pull that once screw and then pull the piece out.

Please clarify ............... Are you talking about the "B" pillar trim piece that is on the HT itself? Or the plastic pieces on the side behind the seat (on the car itself)? If it's the "B" pillar trim, I believe it's a snap fit (like it indicates in Step 17).

Ah. Sorry, thought you were talking about a different piece.

Just pull. Carefully.
