Default hardtop: CF or FRP

Im deciding either CF or FRP hardtop. Are they any advantages or disadvantages? Let me know. Thanks.

cf is lighter and costs twice as much - mugen that is. you can go for amuse for uber-lightness - you got'a fork $10K though

since cf is lighter, will there be alot of wind noise?

Wind noise is minimal. CF is more rigid than Fiberglass and also more costly.

If you just want a hardtop to have a hardtop go FRP. Go carbon if you want the light wieght bling factor. Either one would be nice.

you can hit up the property of both material in google and have 50 pages to read.

FRP is not really fiberglass, it's more like a cheap...cost effective building mater that doesn't have to bear a high load all the time.
it's perfect for body pieces like lips and side skirt alike.


not sure it's the true about mugen but most low end fiber glass car part is fiberglass with overlay cf, it will cost alot more to make it out of pure cf or worse, honeycomb sandwich/reinforced cf.
so in other word, the cf ht is not really a cf ht, its more like a fiberglass top than anything else.

go do your research and see what's fit you and your wallet
