Default Hard Top Rattles and Wind Noise

I just put my hard top on for the winter season, I am getting a lot of rattling from the front right side where the top clamps down to the windshield.

Also at speed (around 50 mph), I get a lot of wind noise along the front seal.

I don't remember having these problems last year.

Anyone else have these issues? If so what was the fix if any.

BTW, I tried a search, search function is dead.

Probably your strikers...good way to test is to put 1/4 inch aquarium air line tubing on the hooks to tighten the pull.

How did you store your hardtop over the summer? Was the stand or rack compressing a portion of the seal? You may be getting a small air leak from that.

No. I had it on a winch, the straps holding it where not against the front seal.

I tried the tubing. It helped a lot. Funny thing is the convertable top latches down fine.

Thanks for the input.

i am having a similar problem with my hardtop above 50mph. Can you explain this in more detail? I don't understand how to determine if my strikers are the problem!

1/4 tubing great idea... I had to pause a sec to visualize this but if I have problems which the Shin-etsu can't fix tubing is the next step.

Remember check your strikers.

Your car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer. While at the dealer last week I saw that there is a TSB for the wind noise, if the strikers are worn the TSB said to replace them at no charge. It also called for application of Shin-etsu grease.

1/4 inch airline tubing is actually a work around and will fix the problem. When you slide the tubing over the pull hooks, the added diameter of the tubing wall, about 1/16 inch will tighten the fit as you lock the top down. Will only cost you .25 cents to see

I have the rattling problem...The tubing sounds like a great idea...I will try it...I was also tols that there are two different types of strikers used.1 for the Convertible and one for the hardtop....My soft top doesn't rattle at all, but my hardtop does...
