Hard to shift into reverse gear?
Lately it has been difficult to shift to reverse in the morning (when the car first started). I have to shift the gear around and reclutch several times before it will go.
I thought may be it needs new trans oil so I took it to Honda for trans oil change but it does not help.
It does not happen after the transmission is warm up.
Does anyone have similar experience?

I don't have problems getting it into reverse when it's cold, but just before you put it in reverse, try putting it into sixth gear then reverse while holding the clutch down. That used to help with my other car.

Asin,
I am having the same problem every morning. I usually engage 3rd gear first and then "reverse" falls into place.
I hope that this problem goes away when I have my clutch TSB done.

When I had my first S2000 (Sept 99 model) I had terrible trouble getting into reverse. Sometimes I needed 2 hands!!!
However, I picked up my new S2000 (August 2001 Model) on Sunday and it is a dream. Just slips in Hot/Cold or whatever. It is stunningly simple - Just like it should be.
It feels like I am going into 6th when I am not.
Let's hope it stays that way,
Sam.

You shouldn't need to go into another gear before reverse, because the S2000 transmission is one of the few in the world with a synchronizer on reverse.
It seems to take me a little more effort to get the shifter into reverse, and I haven't noticed any temperature sensitivity here. It always takes me longer to get into reverse if I'm in some sort of hurry for some reason.

Thanks for the feedbacks guys...may be I will try Redline MTL to see if it helps.
When it happened (usually in the morning), I always reclutched, shifted to other gears and pressed it down while shifting it again to "R" (reverse).
It just bothers me that it does not engage the Reverse gear the first time and I had to shift around or reclucth to get it....I don't have 1-2 grinding issue so I don't think it is related.
