I just talked to our local machine shop today, by the way, for those of you keeping up with this. Not only does 50/50 owe them money, but they've been supposed to come pick something up for the last 2 months now as well.

Idiots.

The information for 50/50 racing shows that it's no longer a company. It was posted earlier in the thread. If they're operating as a business without registration, then Brian and anyone else involved is in serious jeopardy of going to jail or facing fines.

Brian, by the way, is always shirtless. It's his "uniform". At first it was funny, but in retrospect... well.. ever seen COPS? Always some shirtless dude on there getting dragged out of his house with beer bottles everywhere and a girlfriend named Lurleen screaming "BABY I LUH YOU!" Yeah....

Holy crankwalk, batman! How do we go about reporting this? I totally glossed over it before because I was so pissed off. My bad!

I have nooo idea how to pursue it in Florida.

We have some different rules here, north of the border. But someone should definitely be going after them for it. I would be contacting whomever businesses are registered with, and inquiring there.

Side note: SupraForums is frustrating because they make you wait till your post count is 5, meaning that your first 5 posts have to be approved by moderators. But the moderators take SOOOO long that if my posts get approved they'll be irrelevant. Guess I'll stick it out or just lurk and learn there without posting.

Aw, sorry to hear it. It's nice to have someone from S2KI over there in my thread. Stay please?

I'm going to call BBS today, it's who we use for accounting, and ask them if they know what the consequences would be for something like that. Drew has also given me the name and number of the Deputy Sheriff in charge of the case, so I'll be contacting her on Friday if his parts don't show up.

You guys need a special section for scam alerts, because this should definitely be in there.

Alright alright, I'll stick around there too, I love Supras, so having another toy to learn about wouldn't be a bad thing Might be a while before I actually look at buying one though.

Good job pursuing it. I think the problem is that nobody steps up because they don't have the time or willingness to pursue "companies" like 50/50 over small issues and that's why they continue to operate (legitimately or not). I think sometimes people feel like maybe they're taking it too far, but this is definitely not the case here. It is truly criminal and should be treated that way.

Unless I'm blind and we have one hiding somewhere, I think a sub-forum for service and store reviews is a great idea. Just a place with a thread for each company that sells parts for or services S2000s so people can jump in, do a quick search, and get a list of reviews. In the same way that you give Ebay feedback, it would give a venue for people to rate their experience.

I spoke to my boss today, and told him the entire situation from top to bottom. He says that they are going to be in so much shit with the IRS it's not even funny. Woot! Too bad I'll probably never see my shit again!

Another update! I have a second mailing address that Brian used, provided via my secret squirrel at MVP Motorsports, who also could tell me that Brian NEVER had a dealer account, and bought everything at retail cost. He couldn't provide them with a tax ID or license.

does 50/50 racing mean 50% of the time they do a good job and the other 50% of the time they do a bad job?
