That's cool but MG doesn't make the MINI BMW does.
And they aren't suppose to be here until this time next year and they last time I spoke with a BMW dealer about the car they weren't even sure who was going to get the dealerships. Only 70 BMW dealers in the US will be selling them.
It was probably a grey market car or a manufactures car over here for testing.
Still a very cool little car.

Since you were in NJ it could have been a BMW of North America employee because the North American HQs is in Montvale and they have another facility in Western Jersey off of I80. Who knows, maybe it was a press car.

I know it's now made by BMW but i just feel evil calling it a Beemer instead of an MG Mini....anyways it was brand new...not a kit car or anything....not sure where it was going but it looked sweet.

Mini is now actually the brand, like Acura. So you can just call it new Mini, although BMW Mini is probably clearest.
BTW it does have a Chrysler engine and it is planned to sell it in the US, so there could be many reasons for its presence. I've yet to see one un the UK, so you're all ahead of us once again :-)

Tox - you're quite right.
They did Morris, Wolseley & Riley versions, but never a MG. That was the John Cooper version.
BTW, the Germans think British Leyland sound like "Britisch Elend", which means British misery! At BMW they called the outfit "The English Patient"

well, atleast the parts falling off it won't be of the finest British workmanship...
I saw a sticker that said that once... "Parts falling off this car are of the finest British workmanship"...
