Gtech Pro accuracy...
I figured this subject would have been discussed many times but when I searched for it I came up with nothing even close. Maybe I didnt search right? I did Gtech Pro and +Gtech +Pro, neither gave any results...
Anyways, how accurate is this thing for the 1/8 and 1/4?

Im interested to know also. I have looked at them on the website and they seem to be pretty accurate. On the forums there most people who have taken them to the track say they were within .01 of the 1/4 time and usually like +2-3 on the mph. But that is because it measures the actual speed your going at the 1/4 instead of the average over a given amount of time, or whatever. Anyone else used one of these?

depends what you mean by accurate....the 1/4 mi ET and trap are accurate and great for measuring times on your car, but it is not how they measure 1/4mi ET and trap on the track so they aren't really comparable.
the HP and torque figures are not accurate at all, at least from the few measurements i've done.....but these measurements are highly dependent on getting the weight of the vehicle (including gas and driver) correct.

I reserached, then begged my wife for one on my birthday. Thing stinks man. Now, I had gotten the Gtech Pro and ilet me tell you, t was a pain in the butt. 1st you have to make it 100 percent level. You can only really use it at a track and most tracks give you the info you're looking for anyway. You practically need a seperate set of hands to get it ready for launch. Since you don't control the tree at the track and you need to set up at full stop before you launch and you don't have 30 seconds before launching, well you get the point. I ended up selling mine on Ebay and spending the rest of the week apologizing to my wife for re-selling it. If you still want one, I found they were selling them on Ebay too for like 50 bucks. I hear there is a new version that is much better but I'll pass. Good luck man.

Gtechs are extremely accurate, when used properly.
of course, therein lies the problem. you need a completely FLAT surface, no loose gravel or pavement issues, has to be calibrated properly, have to have your weight as accurate as possible, etc.
on a track, they are often extremely close to what the track times are. on the street, it's very doubtful it will be as accurate. and more often than not, they end up a bit optimistic.
