Default Ground Control Coilover Conversion vs. Comptech

I've been looking at springs mostly because I cant afford a full kit, bit I dont want to drop the S very low, maybe just 1/2-3/4 inch most of the time. I ran across the Comptech Adjustable Spring kit and then through searching here found the Ground Control Coilover conversion kit. I read the search results here, but I wanted to know if anyone had anything new add. Both kits seem about the same except the Comptech is about $300 more. The Ground Control kit uses Eibach springs. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I was driving in my friends s2k. He has Ground controls and Eibach springs . They are softer than Oem and i didnt like them.

Wrong answer!

You can choose the spring rate these come with. The default kit has really soft rates that will give you this impression. I suggest you pick the correct rates. The setup is excellent if you know what you want.

When my friend bought them , there wasnt a choice of different spring rates. So i guess you are a pro , What Spring rate should we pick to make them work better then oem ?

I will be selling my fairly new ground controls with koni yellow shocks as soon as they are off my car (it should be done by tonight). If any one is interested.

I imagine you have always been able to choose spring rates from Ground Control... that is what they have done since before the S2000 came out: offer custom kits to customer specs.

As I understand it, if you dont specify your spring rates, they will default you to a softer setup. You can get ground controls as hard as your spine can handle, so any complaint about spring stiffness on a GC kit is purely the customer's responsibility.

I've heard bad rumors before, but don't see any complaints here on the forum.
Just wondering.

Ive never heard anything bad about them. I have had GC stuff on an old VW I had and it was solid stuff. I have a couple friends with road race 1st gen RX7s that run full GC suspension and those cars have all been bulletproof (except for the rotary engine )

Obviously, I have had exactly zero experience with their S2000 kit, but all their other stuff I have come in contact with has been incredible. On top of that, GC warranties their stuff for EVERYTHING. They dont care if it has been raced/abused/etc... they warranty it.

I am thinking hard about the GC kit for my S, so Im gonna follow this thread closely.
