I think you should take the $10,000 your parents are giving you and the $4,000 that you have and put a down payment on a good education.
The parents are giving him 10 gs for a car, do you really think he has to worry about paying for an education?

I'm not to crazy about the Vielside kit either. Get a S/C or piece together a body kit. There are a ton of options out there now.

Choice 1: Buy an older model, used and save the cash for "more important" events in life. You'll get 9/10th's the enjoyment from an '00 (if not 10/10) and you won't be in debt at a young age.

Choice 2: Pay off the car instead of sinking the money into mods.

Have you ever seen the Veilside kit in person? It just looks funny. To aggressive.

If you are making the monthly payments, I'd say put the money down. Lessening the monthly payments will be much easier to deal with a year down the road.

If your parents are making the payments, go buy whatever you want with your $4000. Keep in mind you'll need $800 for new tires in a year (or less), money for maintenance, gas, "mishaps" due to age/momentary stupidity/lack of skill (or any other excuse), etc. Also, think of all the non-S2000 things a teenager can buy for $4000, like a new suit, shoes, and a tie

w/ 4000 bucks I say put it toward just small body enhancments (wheels, lip, lowering springs, clearcorners, eyelids, whathave you) then put the rest toward performance parts (exhaust, midpipe, header, cai, whatever). that way you will have the best of both worlds.

I mean the car is already hot, and doesn't need much to "set it off" and be different. and then you will also get the extra kick in the pants from performance pieces, which will also come in handy down the road if you decide on any kind of forced induction

oh yeah and the veilside kit is ugly. it screams fast&furious yo. Keep it low key, like the gp sports kit if you absolutely have to have a bodykit. (and yeah i'm a younger guy too)

Don't get the veilside body kit. Put all your money towards the car so the payments will be lower.

I'd put the money towards some capitals, commas, periods and other punctuation marks.
