Default Greddy Engine Oil

Im going to have my engine oil change tomorrow, and im going for the Greddy 5w-30 engine fluid for vtec engine. Because i havn't seen anyone in this forums uses this fluit before, anyone could give me any feedback on this oil? Should I go with this or just use Mobil 1.

Thanks
Philip

Mobil 1 FTW. It's great oil. 5W-30 seems a little thin unless you live in the North with the cold weather. If it's mostly warm, just go with 10W-30 to maximize your protection. Good luck.

I'd be safe and run 10w30, which is what is recommended for our cars

Hey do any of ya'll use royal purple on your S's.

I used it on my Z and never had any problems but was wondering if there was a certain reason not to. Reason I ask is because with the Z a lot of them would run really hot and have high oil pressure with mobile 1 so I know diff cars react differently to different oils

Royal purple is complete BS IMHO. If you are looking for top end oil (the best you can buy) get Amsoil. It is the undisputed king.

It needs to be mentioned (IMO) that a 5W-30 oil will be as thick (or as thin) as a 10W-30 oil at operating temp.
It's the "30" that makes it the same.
During cold starts - and all starts while not close to operating temp are considered cold starts - a 5W-30 oil will flow better, the oil pump will have less problems getting enough oil where you want it, against the cylinder walls, up top at the camshafts and at the crankshaft bearings.

As long as the 5W-30 oil has the API-SL/SM quality you are ok to use it IMO.

Ehh I don't think so.

I know a lot of guys on the Z forum who swear by it. Myself included. Amasol is good as well but I used royal and it was fine for me. I tried mobile 1 and it raised my oil pressure considerably before it got to operating temp.

Not sure who I'll go with for the S

I run Royal Purple, no issues here.
Its not "bad" in a quality sense. Its bad in an economic sense. What I mean is, its not as good as Amsoil for instance, and it costs more. By law of economics, that makes it a bad product. Try amsoil, youll be glad you did. Also, since you track your car, use their tranny fluid as well. Youll be in love.
