Great, just what we need - Car and Driver comparo

The only good thing to ever come out of Canada was RUSH and unless your name is Geddy, Alex, or Neil. STFU! BTW, Senna is dead and he died because he overdrove the car, get over it.
I was faster than S2K's on race tires as well, but explain it to me genius?? All you want to do over is bitch how the C&D comparo was unfair because they added the hardtop, so I try to lay out a fair comparo by removing race tires and that isn't good enough for you. Can't have your cake and eat it too suny boy.
BTW, race tires were good for over 6 seconds a lap in my MR2 Spyder at Button, I expect no less from the Z, but unless I can get it to also handle as well as an S2K it will be all for naught regardless of what times it turns. It's the satisfaction of the experience that counts. And the S2K still has an edge there. Why don't I own an S2K? Don't fit, head right against the roof. Even in my Z, my helmet hits the roof, but at least my knees don't hit the steering wheel and when I look to the left or right I don't have to duck. Otherwise, if you look at my old posts here, I had every intention to buy an S2K about a year ago.
I never get people like formerh22. Their car is their life. It's like you are in a gang or something?? What's your problem?? Kinda sad don't you think? Not enough sun up there in the great white north I guess. What, never going to own another car your entire life but an S2K?

raceboy or should I call you ricerboy. You're just an idiot who doesn't have his facts straight. Yeah Senna died, but not because he overdrove the car. It was called a mechanical failure that his team let him out on the track with a compromised suspension part. Why do you think Williams had to go to court.
Oh, start knocking Canada now Personally, Canada is the best secret that America doesn't know about and I am glad it is that way.
I don't care about your previous post or what the F%^& you say, your arrogance on the 350Z speaks volumes. What, are you bothered by the same welcoming that you dish out regularly? Get a life, if you dish it you should receive it just as good.
Who is the one always qualifying the outcome, who is one who came on here to justify their decision. Your inflated head didn't fit that is why and I am glad your fat ass doesn't fit in a S2000. Your damn weight would have given us a bad name. Go back to your fan club and continue the propaganda about your street tires and qualifying your performance.

Comparisons are all the same!!! Obviously the new cars that come out (Z) have an advantage becase the 2K was built before.WE have to remember that just because we own it does not mean that it's the best car out there!!! Soon the Tiburon will beat the STOOK, there is nothing you can do but deal with it. Honda needs to make a real horsepower motor. My 91 SI was slow, my 99 SIR was slow and now my S2K has become slow. Just because the S2K is a good bang for the buck does not mean it will kill everything out there.

I read this article....
for free while standing in the grocery...
i figgered....why pay for crap when i can make my own
all of that aside...let them buy their mustangs...their 350z's, their whatever-letter-mobiles <excluding the R letter> we own a purpose built and designed high performance car
sure if i welded pontoons on it it would float...
and then it would be on Monster Garage <tonite @9pm on the Discovery channel>

Usually I can't stop reading a Car and Driver magazine until I've consumed it all.
This last issue was so sickening negative I had to stop reading at times before I tossed my cookies. Take a look, other cars aren't praised either.
The one point I think we will agree for accuracy (from memory) was that the Z is a comfortable touring coupe, and the S is a car made for the track.
Their rating system is the same whether it's a truck, suv, sports car, or economy car... and they don't include expected reliability.

My main "gripe" with the article is that CD has said many times that 0.5 seconds differeince in 0-60 time is significant, yet this difference in this test and their past test of the S2000 raised no "red flags" with them, which should have motivated them to request another example of this car, and perhaps an alternate driver.
Then, you have to "know" how to drive the S2000 to get the mid 5's 0-60. If you want a no brainer to do the same, buy a Mercedes C32 AMG (all have auto trans). Here the instructions are simple. Get in car, start car, point it where you want it to go, and floor the accelerator.
Thanks,
Richard
