I really don't see why so low. While the S2000 does come across very spartan, it has:
leather seats, glass rear window, power top, CD, PW/PL/PM/remote, HIDs, 6-spd, cruise, LSD, ABS, alum pedals. That's more than std Boxsters and Z3's had, at least before '03.
Okay, it is lacking: power/heated seats (I'd like height), glove compartment (major faux pas), tilt wheel, traction/stability control, auto climate, and a passenger airbag disable. I have no desire to spend an extra $2K for a nav system.
Give it a 6.
But admittedly, a car preference isn't the summation of a bunch of unweighted scores.

What about fit and finish?
Audi (9)
mustang (8)
S2000 (8)
350Z (8)
Guess there is a big difference between the S and the rest of the cars in features and amenities, but fit and finish is the same for all. that's a little odd.
I believe if the S2000 had been as fast as previously tested it would have scored higher.

As far as the features rating goes, how about the removeable roof? That should add a couple of points and none of the other cars have one. I thought the comparison was silly, and I would love to see the same cars up against each other in soft-top form sometime in the future.

I've read the article and for a millisecond I too, was a bit miffed at the irregularities of the test.
However, what matters most to me is that:
1. I've got the ability to go from top-up to top-down in four seconds flat.
2. Even after 13,000 miles behind the wheel this car makes me smile each and every day!
3. Less than 10,000 per year served in the U.S. - unlike the McDonald like 'Stang and, soon, 350Z.
4. Seeing one of you guys on the road - with mine or without - always puts a smile on my face as well.
You guys ROCK! See you on the road...

Hi, had fun meeting a lot of you guys out at the Speedventures event at Buttonwillow on Fri. Very limited run time with the fog and all, but in the last session I managed to get 2 clear laps in my 350Z. Good enough to beat every street tired S2k at the event: http://www.speedventures.net/event_results...results=OA&s=lt
Am I trolling here, not at all. Those damn race tired S2K's are wicked fast!! Holy Shit!! The Z's stock suspension is for shit with merciless frustration understeer. No doubt that a stock S2K actually handles better than a Z (Absolute speed doesn't always mean everything) but the Z has great potential once the suspension gets a proper aftermarket treatment and at least some more front camber, not to mention ditching the crap RE040's!
See you next time!

The fact is you still lost to the S2Ks with R compound tires, don't qualify things with this street tire crap. Perhaps, the street tire guys aren't track racers and are tooling around just for kicks and that is why they have street tires on.
I would like to see you shave another 7-8 seconds off with your suspension and race tires there to compete with the top S2000 guys who really know how to drive.
Come back when you beaten all the Vipers, Z06s and S2000s there is.

wickerbill, I am just returning the favour raceboy paid me when I visited their site.
Keep your one sided post to board. I am sure those guys wouldn't look at the top cars results and S2000 make beside their name
One last thing unless you shave another 500lbs, don't think tires and suspension mods will help that much.
