Are GPW S2000's worth the heavy $$$ premium?
IMO, the prices of some GPW's are ridiculous, especially 07-09. Especially when u can get ONE owner cars like this 2008 Rio Yella with 18k miles for $27.9 with $4000 (lol) hardtop. This Rio actually looks better then MOST of the GPW floating around here for sale. Here is the link and vote and add your 2 cents.

**********?U can add 2000 to 2005 GPW in some cases ,also going for a $3 to $5k premium over a comparable S2k, not just 2006+**********

On this site...probably. In the real world I don't think there is a price premium based on color. Just keep an eye on craigslist or autotrader, patience is the key. I casually looked for over 2 years before I found the one.

It should be the second highest in value after a CR, but the prices of 08-09 GPW are exceeding CR's. If I'm spending $30k, it better be for a.CR or.I'm shopping for a.Lotus Elise/ C6 vette or something else for another $5k more. It's not worth spending $30k on a car that cost $34k new 5 or 6 years ago.

Here goes a few examples of GPW's going for $$$. I would def be embarrassed telling anyone I paid $26k for this one.

Why spend $30k on a S2k when u can have this WHITE Corvette for the same price:

Or this Green Lotus Elise for $29.9k:

Or $27.9k for this WHITE 2010 Nismo 370z:

Also, Carfax shows accident on the Nismo Z. But it seems like a lot of the cars from EMG dealership have history of accidents with an occasional stolen vehicle, but they have some very nice 1 owner cars for sale too.

Colors/counts by year:
Dismissing the CR's due to low production count, and lumping all the Silver shades together (Silverstone, Sebring, Chicane), the rarest and most distinctive color is actually Laguna Blue (about half as many as GPW, the next lowest count). Interestingly, GPW does have the biggest number of variants for interior color.
I'm not sure why GPW has the following here that it does to the exclusion of all other colors, but I do believe that it only exists here: a car dealer would probably think that NFR will sell faster than any other color.
'06+, I definitely get that part: throttle by wire, reprogrammable ECU, VSC, no TPMS until '08.
Would I pay an extra grand to get the exact color I want? Absolutely. Do I understand why so many of you want white ones? Nope

White has always been the easiest color to sell. My MDX is Pearl White (like it better than stark white) and my DD is a white 94 TBird. In the hot weather of Sacramento white is a nice color to have; keeps things somewhat cool and does not really show the dirt much. Red here is terrible as it always seems to oxidize. Black is insane here.
If the S came in a pearl white with tan interior, I would have preferred that. That being said, the Rio Yellow I have on my 09 is terrific. I have grown to love it; it fits the car perfectly. I would buy it again.
My premium went to the newness and low miles of essentially a new car.
