carfax is clean..... recalls and TSBs performed.... everything is clean.... including the car(except for the missing exhaust tips). being im gong to pick up the car myself i can rule out major obvious surprises. OH YEAH i forgot to tell you guys im only buying a white with red interior car.. NO silver its too common for me.

If the exhaust tips are gone I would bet an after market exhaust spent some time on that car and god knows what else, all of which was removed when the car was sold.

My '02 was worth $16,xxx when I turned it in last year with almost 70,000 miles on it. $15k sounds a little steep. Also, I would be careful about buying this car. I don't mean to judge, but if this isjust within your budget, then it may not be a good idea. You are looking at a new clutch, new tires, possible engine and diff work, etc.

If you really want an AP1, then there are plenty of very, very low mileage '03's sitting around.

Either way, good luck and we hope to see you on the road

I bought my 00 daily driver w/ then 85k miles on it for $14k. I'd do it again in a heart beat.

i will keep looking unless i get a stupid deal on that car.. i kept telling the dealer that i thought the car had been wrecked because it didnt have the exhaust tips. I mean who in the heck takes off the tips. well looking at the pictures again lastnight i realized that yes the car had been wrecked. The bottom of the back bumper is WHITE not black like every other ap1 s2k on the planet. it probably was a lil fender bender but any excuse to weed off the price.. im going for it.. crazy dealers... thats why i trust them like i do criminals.

holy crap good deal. yes my rx7 has been pretty reliable im the one who broke it. i adjusted my tps back to factory and two days later i still hadnt tuned my fuel.. it bit me in the butt..detonated(i didnt feel it or hear it) and it cracked the dowel pin area of the rear housing.. spits oil everywhere. car runs fine just spits oil. 400 dollar fix but ihave to pull the engine. the s2000 will be the daily driver as my rx7 is faster and more a gas guzzler by far. and yes the dealer did tell me it hadnt been wrecked.

Never would I purchase a high performance vehicle with anywhere close to 85K. For one never knows how much of a thrashing it went through throughout those 85,000 miles. Consider, too, that I, for example, purchased my second S2000 just this past August: A Honda Certified '03, in excellent condition, 15,777 miles, and with a never used hardtop for $23K. Better deals are out there. Were I you, I'd keep looking.
Happy hunting
