I live in Atlanta... I've had my S for about 18 months and I've only been pulled over once. I've found you've got to pick your spirited runs carefully. If a cop is anywhere near you and you try to max this car out, you're going to get pulled over, unfortunately.
The one time I got pulled over was for taking corners at high speed. To be honest, what I was doing was moderately dangerous, but it's just so dang fun. Fortunately I also got off with just a warning.

I said 'slow down' he clearly got pulled over because he was running red-line to red-line which gets a lot of attention from five-o around here.
Consider this - Where are you when you're able to vtec first gear? Typically coming off from a stop of some sort. I'm going to wager for most people this is not from pulling off the side of a rural road. So for, pick a figure 70-90% of people redlining first gear will be in a situation that will attract attention from police.
My comment is valid point but I cannot figure out the thought process on yours.

I drive to Vegas once a month and this year, twice in 2 months, TWICE I got written warnings. First was late at night and I was being paced by an unmarked so no V1 save. Second was instant on so again, no V1 save. This year has been a lucky one so I def have slowed it down on my interstate travels the last couple of months. I have been getting better gas mileage on the road trips though, lol.
