Is the issue really whether you need a supercharger or a new girlfriend. If she was being serious then its time to find someone new that will support you in your endeavors. It is your money as others have said.

Don't allow her to set the precedent. If you can afford it and if you want to do it, then do it. The odds are that she'll stick around. Personally, I'd feel almost forced to buy it now. Perfect solution is to get it, make sure she knows it and has a chance to get really pissed, wait until she cools off, and then dump her manipulating butte.
