GOT MY VOLK TE37s!
#1
Hi all
I got my Volk Racing 18" TE37 (bronze). I have a red/black 2000 model. 225/40/18 in front and 235/35/18 in back. The tires are Michelin Pilot Sports.
I know some of you are mental about wheel weights so I weighed them:
18" TE37 + Michelin Pilot Sports: 38 lbs
16" STOCK + Yokohama Guardex tires : 38 lbs
There you have it.
My car will be on display at the Montreal car show at the Olympic stadium if you want to check it out. I will get pictures this weekend.
I want to thank SAM YAU on this board since I bought the mags off him and he was a nice patient guy (dealing with us crazy Canadians is always time consuming!).
Take care
Rob

hey guys
I promise pictures this weekend!!
The car will look 'riced' out a bit due to my sponsor putting on stickers on the car and adding an air intake that is totally non functional but hey it will look ok.
Sev, my car is being used by Auto HTA for their display booth. In return I am getting semi-sponsored for my lapping days coming up this year (read able to buy stuff for cost -30%). I also got 500$ and they are renting me a new 2000 Blazer for 3 weeks so I am not putting any mileage on the car during that time. The car will be roped off so no one should be able to touch the car.
The tires look a bit big and there is a gap I hope to get rid of with some springs or coilovers (depending on the prices..)

Nice wheels. Unsprung weight, same as stock. So ride and bumpy road traction s/b good as far as that goes. But the moment of inertia will still be a bit higher due to the radius squared thing. To accel as well as stock, larger wheels have to be LIGHTER than stock.
