Default Got Into An Accident Today

driving to work and an SUV in front of me got cut-off and had to stop short. I didnt have much time to react plus the roads were wet. My nose went underneath his bumber. The area where the honda emblem is, is bent downward and there are alot of scrathes. The hood has a crease in it and also has some scratches. Am i gonna have to pay to replace the whole hood or do you think they will be able to remove a crease from an aluminum hood? There is no mechanical damage to the car though. Thank God! And the SUV only suffer a bent lincense plate. Anyone have a similar situation? How much did it cost you?

Bummer! Are you paying yourself or claiming on your insurance?

Why not get a quick 'Ball park' figure from any repair shop? You'll then have some idea what you're dealing with. It will come down to whether it's cheapest to pay yourself or accept the loss of 'No Claim' bonus that your insurance co will stick on you at renewal, and this could affect your premium for 3 or 4 years.

Good luck!

Does anyone know if it is even possible to repair the aluminum hood or will I have to get a whole new one? How much is a stock hood?

The stock hood is about $400. I had to replace mine and was amazed it was that cheap.

Good luck.

Time to buy a carbon fiber hood! I would count on buying a new hood though.

Good luck.
