Thanks for all the support guys, between this thread and a few messages I've received it's nice to hear people loved the car as much as I did.

I'm waiting to hear from her insurance to figure out what my next steps are. From what I can see there's probably 3-4k in visible parts damaged. Hard to say what's broken in the suspension (the damper is probably toast, I could see some some fairly good impact marks on it looking at it yesterday, or if the frame is bent at all (my guess is the frame isn't, but I could only look in the engine bay and at the outside damage).

I can't decide if I'd rather they just totalled it or not, part of me wants to keep my baby but part of me thinks she'll never be the same, not to mention the resale on it has taken a hit. If it's totaled I'll probably be back in an s2000, I was planning on keeping this one for a long time

Glad you are safe
Amazing the lip barely has a scratch.
If you're fortunate, the suspension components took all the beating and the frame is still good. Make sure they estimate replacing everything mechanical in that corner- control arms, hub, brakes, inner and outer tie rods, etc. My experience with insurance adjusters and body shop estimators is they are neglectful of the mechanicals and focus on cosmetics. They'll tell you to come back again after the first round of repairs if there are any more problems, but it is a hassle.

Sorry to hear about this. Hope the repair costs aren't too extensive.

That looks rough man but at least you're alright. I know I would be beyond pissed at myself, the lady, the world if that happened to me. Hopefully they don't total your car and just repair it.

If they do repair it, do I have the right to ask for cash to account for the loss in value of the car? The KBB on it in the shape it was in was $18-18.5k but there's no way I could ask that after this.

Wow, sucks to hear. Glad you are ok. I presume it will more than likely get totaled. It looks like a direct hit in the supension area not to mention that entire drivers side area.

Let us know how it turns out.
