Got in a accident with an off duty cop.
So I was driving to the gym and got to an intersection that was closed off. Had two choices, make a U-turn and go in a different direction or wait it out.
I decided to do what everyone else is doing, make a U-turn. So I back up slightly to create enough of a gap with the truck in front of me, but apparently the truck driver thought I wasnt there anymore so he backed up into to me.
We exchange info and now I have to wait for a call from my insurance agent. Since the truck driver was a cop, he knew all the procedures which made things go faster. here are some pics.
HOW BAD YOU GUYS THINK IT IS?

$1000 for a new pass side headlamp, $500 for body and paint work, assuming no damage to bumper tabs near the headlight. You can't replace just the headlamp lense...have to replace the entire unit!

That doesnt look too bad, you can probally get a check from insurance and then get the parts from members and pocket the extra money. Good luck with everything.

When you replace the broken headlight, you should sell the projector from the old unit. Doesn't look like it's damaged at all, only the plastic cover... perfect for somebody who wants to put HIDs in their car.

Since it is not your fault I would tell the body shop that you want all new OEM parts for everything that was damaged. You have to be specific with them or else they try to put cheap after market parts on your ride. It looks like you need a new headlight unit and fender. In my experiences (And I have had many!) most shops would replace the fender as opposed to trying to fix it because it would take to much time/labor. I am not sure what they would do with the front bumper...it would not hurt to say you want a new one IMO. Good luck Bro!
