got the 4.56 gears in today
took the car to Ram Jet this morning, 3 hours later it was done and ready to roll. Im not good with long writeups, but the car is much more responsive in gears 1,2,3, with one being imo the best improvment in terms of livability, leaving stop lights and just cruising the car gets up and moves alot better, there was no "i think theres more power" questions in my head, as i have had with my intake, and exhaust before i got the t1r system. Now i just gotta see how well i can hang with my buddies c5 z06 now . Anyways one more for the gears, there is no whine and it is a big improvment. two questions....how do i break in the gears if i have to (i just took it easy driving home, didnt really take it over 70 the whole way, and i didnt drive hard at all. and two the shop put diff oil in the gear box for me, would you suggest i change it with something else? like the stuff ricks sells?. thanks

Make sure they put a quality GL-5 gear oil in there or you'll be sorry. The LE 607 is a great fluid (found on ricks, or hardtopguy) for warm weather.
I don't know how to break in the gears in terms of driving style, but definitely swap out the fluid after you complete the process. I'm sure its written up somewhere on here.

break in period,, there hould be a heat cycle for the gears that u drive the car for 10 miles then let cool for 30 minutes,, repeat this 2 more time then u can go with the car but not hard,, drive for 1000 miles then change the fluid
that what i can remember ``

I don't suspect you'll be able to hang with a Z06 unless you do a Z06 engine swap

What was your engine RPM at 70 mph? Gears sound like a cool option but I would be curious at what RPM it is at 70 mph as that is the speed I am most commonly at on my commute.
ap1 with 4.56 is 4200 rpm at 70 mph
ap2 with 4.56 is 3700 rpm at 70 mph
with the gear calculator you can put in any RPM to see what speed you'll be at in each gear.
