I've looked on the board and found that Santa Monica Honda has mixed reviews.

There's a shop mentioned in Marina Del Rey - "The Race Shop" that doesn't seem to actually exist.

I mainly look to independant shops for work on my cars. Any tips?

I would suggest posting this in the local regional forum if you havent already. They would be the ones to ask on it. Other then that, what kind of work are you looking to get done? Modifications or warrenty work?

 

Contact Ed Perez at Pasadena Honda and tell him you have a S2k and want Fred Woo to work on you baby. Tell him that you know Chris, a friend of Joe in Parts. He will know exactly who I am. He used to work at Acura and worked on many celebrities SC NSXs and works on a few S2ks that are SC. He loves the cars and will work on them as if they are his own. Need to talk to him to make sure his schedule is cool though. Mostly Weds are good for him. Remember Fred Woo at Pasaden Honda. He is my friend and he is the best.

I'm looking for normal work. Currently I'm at 15,000 miles and really don't want to pay $200 for an oil change (all other items for the 15K service are "inspection"). The ony additional thing I want done is to lubricate the soft top hinges.

Long term I may want to explore tweaks to the engine and whatnot.

Anyway, I'll try the regional forums. I'll keep Pasadena in mind, since I'm in Pasadena quite often (Old Town is a cool spot).
