Many dealers will tell you that they can get one for you and then a few days or a couple of weeks later tell you they are no longer available. I went through this five years ago so you can imagine what it would be like now.

I guess you didn't get the answers you wanted in this thread? I seriously doubt that your dealer can truly acquire a new hardtop, but if he does have some magical source for new hardtops and is able to pull this off you should suggest that he become a vendor on this forum and he will sell quite a few. I recently bought my hardtop used with all hardware for $2,200, so I still wouldn't have bought a brand new hardtop for $3,750 (plus tax I'm assuming) when you can buy used ones for well under $3,000 if you search. A hardtop is not a mechanical part, so as long as it doesn't have any physical damage I don't know why people would hesitate to buy used. It all comes down to how important it is to YOU to have a brand new hardtop (if you can find one) vs. a used hardtop.

Please let me know if that dealer can actually get you one!!! Impossible to find, I know somebody out there needs XMas monies $$ give up your hardtops for a quick decent buck! Let me know if you have one and I am ready to pay.
