Is the radio really that bad, or is it just the models prior to 2002 that have crappy systems. As for me, i want a white one, i'd clear the side markers and buy the euro headlights. A comptech intake would be a must, and a strut bar or an X brace(which i do not know much about-x-brace). Maybe some 18"s and thats all folks. Oh, and ofcourse a hardtop for the winter. Jeff

I'm happy with the car stock, but since it's a 2000 model, I've added a Mingster Aeroscreen to calm down the cockpit a bit and purchased floormats and a car cover from Honda before I even took possession of the car.
I might give in and get leather visor replacements, mainly since that's the best way to get ride of those stupid airbag warning stickers.
I guess I consider the car to still be stock even after these "minor" modifications.

I say I won't but I said that about my NSX too. The S2000
actually has great looking wheels and a good exhaust note out of the box. I think early NSX's were under-wheeled in comparison. I'd like to hear the Comptech exhaust for the S2000, the car needs to be a little louder IMO.

I approached mods cautiously, never having modded a car before and being happy with the stock performance. I've noticed *significant* improvement, though, with the intake cooling mods and X-brace. The car really does get sluggish when hot, and the X-brace improves both road feel AND ride quality, IMO.
Voodoo-like shifters (spherical, countersunk) are a great mod, too; a stereo upgrade is also clearly required.
What's more, all of those mods can be done on the cheap:
Hondata intake gasket: $60
X-brace: $150?
Voodoo knob: $40
Lucid rear speakers: <$200.
'02 models don't even need all the crap we had to buy for our '00's: rear window mat, console cover, floormats, aeroscreen...
