Default Going to the track this Friday

My friend just purchased a new 04 srt-4 and he invited me to go to the track with him to get our quarter-mile times. I have a 00 s2k. Also he told me that he is going to invite another friend which as a 03 350z 6mt. So it should be good races. Im going to have my g/f take her video camera so I can post it here. Hopefully I dont disapoint any s2k owners if I lose to both. But I think with a good lanch I would be able to keep up or take them. Do any think i will have a hard time beating them??.Also, i was going to take off the spare tire in the back, I know its a little bit of weight taken off but its still something. Does that matter??

Good Luck show those two cars a thing or two, just get a good launch and nail each shift and you will have a fighthing chance at both.

Do yourself and your S a favor, go to a real track instead. You know, the kind where you have to turn the steering wheel.

I would but Im not the one who decided it. A real track i would love, the only competition I would have would be with the 350z.

I am not a 1/4 guy myself, but some people enjoy it, so I have no problem with it. They understand that our car was not built for it and they take their own risks.

Dont worry, if you lose to both (which you probably will if it is your first time) you wont embarass us. Despite what others say, both of those cars have their strong points and they happen to be straight-line acceleration for both.

However, if you stick the launch and shifts, you can definitely beat both.

im not saying you wont beat them but they are fast cars. My friend has a stock 350z and his best time was 13.8 they will be close races nonetheless. but take this car to like autocrossing and its a whole different story. this car handles like a beast! oh yeah, everyone says this is not a drag car, and i guess it doesnt seem that way also. but its weird when u see all civics and integras there running 1/4. i never heard anyone say that they are not drag cars. even though some are pretty quick too. well, have a fun time!

Yes, make sure you don't forget to record everything. Also, keep in mind that how fast you cover the first 60 feet, will HUGELY affect your total time. Good luck and keep us posted!

Damm the 350z runs 13.8, thats pretty good. My friend in the srt-4 said his new one he has seen on the internet it running 13.6. Is that true, if so, it would be tough for the my s judging by normally people getting low 14. This will be the first time for all three of us taking the car down the track. Do I need to lower my tire pressure?? Or is that just on v8's so they dont spin out at the start??.
