You sure you want to marry a woman who thinks your car is a dishwasher? Shall I tell you how that might play out from personal experience?

LOL She's even mention this. However, we're both old enough to give each other freedom in our own interests. Besides, she has many other redeeming qualities.

The C63 and 996 turbo were more fun for me to drive. Driven a 355 and 360 F-cars. S is more fun than them and everything else that comes to mind.

I rode (wasn't allowed to drive due to insurance reasons) in an areial atom II and I must say, it made my S feel like a buick. And at a starting price of 54k, the atom is affordable for many but only reasonable for a handfull. I used to think that the only afordable car I would sell my S for is a elise/exige but not no more. Only an atom will do.

Nothing quite measures up to the S.

Or go drive a Nissan Versa, and then you'll appreciate our S2k!!

(my rental car is a Versa while S is in body shop from recent hail damage. Versa is a POS car...one of the worst car's i've ever driven. only plus is I'm averaging 33.5 mpg in city driving)

Or in my case, an Altima; did 400 miles over the weekend on roads I'd previously driven in the S2000 (couldn't take the mother in law to the reunion in the trunk of the Honda, could I?)

Well, they both had four tires and a steering wheel - the resemblance ends there. It was, however odd, to have a conversation in a car and not have to raise my voice. And 33.4mpg indicated was nice.

Hell my buddy and I swapped cars this weekend, he has an E46 M3 and as fast and sexy as that car was to drive, I still find the s2000 funner to drive.

As cars get more and more HP and grippier tires the "limit"'comes at higher speeds

Knowing that these cars can go far beyond the skills of the owners and that many of these same owners don't grasp this, the makers have been forced to ad multiple nanny systems

The s2k has a balance of power and chassis that an aware and skilled driver does not need to be protected from.

IMHO that is why we love them

Here is my list in order from best to worst -

Ferrari F40 - I dream of stepping in the cockpit again before I die. All around jaw dropping.
Porsche 911 - The one I drove was heavily modded.
S2000 AP2 - My daily driver. My only gripe is the steering ratio and the clutch delay valve. And the seat belt rattling.
Miata 1 gen 1992 - Modded suspension was awesome. Gearing was awesome. Needed more power. Glad I had Recaro seats. The stock ones sucked.
Eclipse GSX 1Gen - I miss the turbo. Handling wasn't the best, but it wasn't terrible. Transmission shifting was very weird to me.
Mustang GT - Was nice to have that torque, but felt Fordy.

Cars I wouldn't admit owning...

Scion TC - Toyota Corrola...
RX8 - I can't find any redeeming qualities in this car what so ever.

Many people say the S2000 is the real deal race car platform. Every time I push that red start button I'm reminded of it.
