Okay - before running off and trying the obvious... The glass window is almost half the size as the plastic counterpart, this is the reason for the entire top replacement. The way the glass is held in is different from one top to the other. The way I figure it you could make a piece similiar to the plastic insert but a combo of glass and the canvas material and try and sew/insert it. You'd just have to be careful to make sure that you're accurate about the placement of the glass or you'll shatter it when you drop the top... You can refer to the picture of the new glass rear window @ www.hondanews.com

Well, I think you are all wrong. Looking closely at the pictures of the 2002 rear window, I think it can be retrofitted into the 2000/2001 models.
The ragtop is in 5 pieces:
1. The top
2. Left side
3. Right side
4. Rear
5. Plastic window + Lower rear
The lower rear portion has the plastic window glued to it. From looking at the pics, the 2002 has a larger (vertically) lower rear portion (extra 1/2 height of plastic window) and then is attached to a plastic moulding - If you replace the whole rear section (which appears to be exactly the same shape) then viola you have a glass rear window.
This requires A LOT OF WORK and must be done by a shop that does convertible tops. It needs to be stitched back - just like if someone cut the rear section of your ragtop - you don't have to replace the whole roof, just the one section.
IT CAN BE DONE - and I will be doing it.
Peace.

And..what may I ask differentiates us Canadians so much that our cars need hard tops?

I live in Upstate New York, so I know, it is a 4-letter word, one of the most vulgar ones I know. Snow.

For those of you wo STILL haven't found your back window...you know when you put the top up to wash the car? its that clear part you can see through to check if the panel under the Muz mat is dirty or not. i guess glass would make it a bit clearer...
And for those who HAVe found it and want glass...I am certain that even though the current part numbers do NOT include the glass insert panel, i am sure after the 02's come out, that part may become available. besies, if it really is not available through Hnda, there are so many vendors on the board that SOMETHING will show up.

I can see peeps working with the window, but the frame of the top itself being different scares me. The frame also has 1 part #, but I didn't check the price, maybe it's not as bad as it sounds. In any case, it's no big deal to me...I've no problem with plastic, and mine is crystal clear thanks to Novus.
