Default gift ideas for boyfriend?

Hi, my boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to get him something for his car since he is obsessed with it. I want to spend around $400, either getting one big thing for him or a few smaller things. I heard a lot of people really like the oil filters as gifts? Any ideas would greatly help! He's super picky about his car so yeah...

oil filters cost like $10 so no oil filter.

you can get him a radar detector if he doesnt have one. i would suggest a valentine 1 or an escort 9500ix, they are top of the range

wow--that's a nice present!

for $400 there's lots of things you could get---depends on what his tastes are and what he's already done to the car. You could get anything from a cold air intake to a new audio system to a new shift knob (that's well under $400)

One idea is to make up a nice "gift certificate" and let him pick out what he wants (with your help)

a radar detector, detects police in the vicinity...

I think the best thing to get him is something he has been wanting or just talking about with interest...

I am sure what ever you get him he would like

thats a good amount of change to spend. does he do any sort of racing ? autocross? maybe HPDE? a nice shift knob is the moddiction shift knob. what year is your bf's car? if you really wanna be good to him and he has an 06 and up s2k get him a flash pro. for being an awesome girl friend. its nice that you dont see the s2k as competition. most women do.

buying a shift knob is kinda hard, unless you know the specific one he likes

^ That's a good idea, but like me I don't like other people touching my car. Especially if the detail shop is unprofessional. You can get a few cleaning products that he can use to make his car shine, and even a buffer for the paint! I would love a gift of a high quality wax, detailing spray, headlight restore kit, etc. Also a shift knob is always a great gift as well. There is a lot of choose from. I recommend one from GoTuning.com

I have an escort passport that I bought from bestbuy for a couple hundred dollars. I been using it for 3 years so far without issues.
