Getting an 03' S2K this weekend!
Well, I decided to sell my 01' S2K and upgrade to the 03' model. Although I love my S2K (and it has the best color combo), I really wanted the changes that they made in later years (rear glass window, tweeters, suspension tweaks, etc).
I was hoping to find a silver (Silverstone or Sebring) or white 03' with low mileage and a great price. I did find a Silverstone, but the dealer selling it is a bit "shady" so I decided to pass. I found a white 03 for sale by private owner, but I would need to have my car sold before being able to purchase it. It also had more miles than I wanted for an 03.
I had a company called Peak Performance (high-end car dealer/finder in Altamonte Springs, FL) looking for an 03' S2K with low mileage, mint condition and at a great price.
Yesterday, the guy (Cliff) called me from the auction and said, "I know red isn't one of the top choices you gave me, but I found an 03' with 4900 miles up for auction from a Honda dealer. Are you interested?"
So we talked pricing, and went ahead and won the bid. So I will be picking up my new red 03' S2K on Saturday.
I've been trying to sell my 01' S2K, but have not had anyone truly interested. I have it listed on Autotrader and on the Cars for Sale forum. So if someone is looking for a helluva deal on an 01' let me know! Otherwise, I'll be trading it in Saturday for the 03.
I had considered buying an EVO as well, but I love my S2K, and I know that reliability, maintenance and overall gas mileage, performance and satisfaction with the S2K will be higher. And I wanted to stay with the S2K community since I've met many wonderful people.

$26,200 is my final buying price before putting cash down or trading in my car. (This includes the profit that Peak Performance makes when they find a client a vehicle. ~$500 profit for them).
I was looking to spend $25-$26K for an 03' in Mint condition with less than 10K miles.
I did find a black 03 with 10K miles for $25K. But I really didn't want black, so I passed on that one. It's for sale by a private owner in Jupiter, FL. He has a baby on the way and needs to sell it.

I'm sure the color will grow on me. I've owned red before (and yellow), but I just prefer silver and white.
Although, the red on the S2K looks very nice!
