I have an 07 with under 1000 miles. Though I have never hand the tranny grind per se, there is some slight kickback in the shifter that can be felt on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. It seems to clear up when the tranny warms up. for this reason, I, like others, think it may be better with good quality tranny lube.

So far owning an 07 for 3-4mons now..
I have grind all the gear so far once, except the 1st and the Reverse. hahhaha
but the 3rd I grind like 3 times I believe
All those time, I believe it was my fault for releasing too quickly and plus I must be fatique on those day, being how my gf was bitching about something.
But I also believe that at some point putting into gear is kind of hard a little, maybe it NEW. O yes, the REVERSE shift is like a bitch. I mean I have to like aggressively force it in like with two hand with the first few hundreds miles. But now it smooth for me to do with one hand with some aggressive force.
So probably through time it will be smooth since not shifting much to Reverse.

If you hesitate for another 1/2 second while putting constant pressure on the shifter while the 2nd gear synchro does it's job, I'll bet many of your cars would not grind any more.

2 days ago while trying to shift from 5th to 6th, rpm about 8500, I could not shift into 6th gear to save my life.
8500rpm in 5th gear is about 135mph. Where exactly were you doing this?
