I did not mean to imply that you had "lied". I figured you were mistaken. But, perhaps you too are taking it until you are completely out of bars for calculating MPG.
Quoted: It really tells me something about the type of person you are to call bullshit on something like this
Let's not get too personal here, it's not like I attacked your character. I simply think that hitting vtec 3-5 times DAILY in addition to canyon drives (lots of acceleration, braking, vtec) would yield 300 miles per tank. I still think BS but we don't have to sleep together buddy, we can have a difference of opinion.
No hard feelings on my part... I apologize if you were offended. Maybe your car is a freak or my owner maintained S2000 is a lemon...

There is no "difference of opinion" when someone is telling you something and providing factual evidence behind it. When I tell you that this is how I drive and those are the miles per tank I'm seeing on regular basis, it is not an opinion.
Not sure why you doubt it so much but that's fine with me. But don't say myself and a few others are bullshitting you.

okay... but factually you are the only one to say he gets 300 with 3-5 vtecs per day and canyon cruising. I don't deny 300 per tank as others have said they achieve this as well... but 300 in the circumstances you gave seems far fetched! Either you are exaggerating a bit or Honda built an S2000 body around an Insight for you.
I will admit BS was a little harsher than I meant but there was no smilie for "ya right buddy, redo your math"
Let's be best friends instead of Internet fighting...??? What do you say? And we (myslef included) are wasting space and time on this thread with very little contribution

First of all, the fact that you say that I still need to "redo" my math and that I'm exaggerating is ridiculous.
Second, I didn't say I get 300 every tank. I said I get between 260-300. 280 is the average.
Third, I'm done with this conversation. It is a waste of my time arguing with someone who refuses to believe more than 230 miles per tank is possible when driving hard.

Back to the subject. I just drove from NC to Detroit and noticed the same thing. However I was getting close to 375-400 (approx) miles on a tank. How I arrived to that conclusion was I used 9.5 gallons to go 300 miles, before I filled the tank again.
Maybe my car is a little different, but I just set the cruise to 70 and let it run at 3800-3900 rpm. I was pretty shocked, yet pleased, to get that kind of milage, but it was just straight driving.
Around town I definately don't get that!....
