No way, lots of scratches from the brushes, not to mention those brushes have scrubed 80 million other cars! What if some big chevy with mud all over it came to that car wash right before you? now you have dirty brushes on your car. Plus with a convertible, automatic car wash soap wasnt made for your top. My top doesnt even get wet when i wash it, i have a special shampoo for vinyl and then aerospace 303 to protect from water and uv rays.

automatic car wash is bad ju-ju!!!!!

Have fun following the manual.

Manual seems right to me when accelerating at a casual pace. That's true when I drive. A different story when you're pushing the car harder.

I am lucky that there's this handwash place close to my house where they wash cars even at sub freezing temps. Amazing how they still operate under those conditions. They have a drive bay where they have plastic curtains and run a heater inside while they wash the car!! The do an unbelievable job and are more anal about washing the car than I am!!! 10 bucks for the outside!! I take it there all the time!! Winter and Summer. Machine car washes...

I bet the guys at the machine car wash place miss me when I used to take my MR2 there. They do a good job. But if the manual says no machine car washes, I am not going to argue.

Depending on location, some of the washes are required by law to recycle water. So there is a chance tiny particles that can scratch up your paint will be in the water, even if the water was filtered.

You will need a lot more than Zaino if you take your S through automated car washes!

Blue Rooster is totally correct. The high pressure of the nozzles will weaken the seals and you'll eventually get water in your baby. No, Non, nein!

cruise dirty rather than through a car wash

Not only is it better for the paint to hand wash it, but it's also a good chance to find any problems with it, (like chips). Plus, automatic car washes miss a lot of spots (like the area on top of the center rear light, the little "cave" made by the OEM spoiler. PLUS, it's a good chance to bond with your car, let it know you love it (that's right) Plus, nothing better than looking down at your used be dirty, now clean and shiny as hell car, and knowing you did it!
