Default Gas overflow

Not sure if this is the correct forum category...

Two times in a row at two different gas stations my gas tank overflowed. Usually the automatic shut-off at the pump clicks when it's full, it didn't do it the last two times.

Is there anything mechanical about the S that helps the fuel shut-off at the pumps? Or is it just my luck that I hit two bad pumps at two different gas stations?

btw, the first pump I had issues with was at a gas station I've often filled at...don't recall if I've ever used that specific pump though.

Any help or insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Probably just problems with the gas nozzle. The nozzles have a neat little vacuum feedback setup that should trip the nozzle latch when the tip of the nozzle submerges in the gas in the filler neck. If it keeps happening make sure the nozzle is fully inserted in the fill neck and maybe fill at a slower rate.

Maybe you can try lifting the nozzle a bit during filling?
