Gas Mileage
To any of you out there with an MY04 S2K:
Have you noticed how tricky the gas indicator can be? I had the exact same thing happen with my 03' TL-S. I would get to the " Half-Full" mark, top her off, and realize that I had only used four gallons out of a possible 17.2 gallons. It seems that my 04' S2K is behaving the same way.
Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that I still have close to ten gallons left when I top her off at half-way! It can be a little beguiling, though.
Anyone else understand this phenom?
Thanks,
MRI Guru

Yeah, the calibration of this gas gauge is a bit off. When all bars are gone, I still have 3 gallons in the tank. I notice that it comes off FULL really quickly, but then it hangs out near the 1/2 tank for a longer time which kinda makes up for the premature drop off FULL. Another thing I hate is when the gas pump clicks off making me think the tank is full and then I start the car up to find there is still one bar not illuminated. Oh well, I still get 25mpg.

Update:
I drove my baby lastnight until one bar was left. On that one bar, I still drove another 15 mile to the next gas station in Laurel, Maryland. I started pumping some good ol' 93 into her...and wouldn't you know, she stopped just short of ten gallons. So, as any good motorist would do, I topped her off as much as possible. I was only able to get to 10.32 gallons.
Thank you Honda! (Not bad for a car with 612 miles on it!)
