I've search a couple places and found that the s2000 has a problem w/ the gas gauge but in all my searches the problems others have had dont seem to resemble mine. We all know the s2000 gas gauge is about as accurate as shaq at the free throw line but my gas gauge takes it to a whole new level. The first time it happened i thought i was jus hallucinating but then it happened again and i realized that i wasn't crazy. Simple put the problem is this: I fill up my gas (shell V-power if that matters) and reset my trip meter so i can calculate my mileage. I drive around town and when i call it a night i've racked up about 48 miles on that tank. The gas gauge still reads full which isn't too suprising b/c i really haven't traveled that far. Fast Foward to the following morning when i get in my car and head out to work. I start her up and look @ my fuel guage which now reads b/w 3/4 and 2/3 full
WTF???!!! My driveway is on a slight incline but the first time it happened it was parked on level ground so that kinda eliminates that possibility. I made sure to click my gas cap tight when i fill up and i dont drive aggressively at all. I normally average about 24-25 mpg which i'm still certain i'll get on this tank but the meter jus dropping like that kinda freaks me out. Anyone care to fill me in on what the deal is??

Don't worry, be happy.
I go more by how many miles I've driven than by what the gauge says, especially if the car has been parked on a slope.
I usually get a bit more than 200 miles per tank around town, so I think 3/4 tank is within a reasonable margin of error after driving 48 miles.
The gauge has a long integration time and a lot of hysterisis built in. That is intended to make it so that the lights don't flicker on and off every time you go over a bump or slosh the gas around. But it does mean that sometimes it behaves a little funny.
