seems like you cared enough to post there which I don't understand.
the thread is full of misinformation. They don't seem to know a single thing about the car.
Besides, how can you begin to be threatened by a sports (i use this term very loosely here) car with an automatic.
I think this was best left alone.

Perhaps it was best left alone. I still like to put up a fight every once in a while...no matter how childish.
I just couldnt get over the fact that one guy said Honda's arent reliable. I mean, of ALL the things you could be wrong about...
I've had a really rough week...I need this

Let's wait a minute here. I own both an s2k AND a Mercedes Benz ('04 C 320 sedan), and I think they are both great at their intended purposes. I would have looked at Honda too when we bought the sedan, but I DEMAND RWD and Honda doesn't offer any such in four doors.
Also, the OFFICIAL forum for Mercedes Benz Club of America is NOT the one quoted above. It is found at www. mbca. org. I post on that board, and my "signature" there clearly shows my s2k along with my MB (and my Ford truck). Several other MB owners on that board also own s2ks. And on that board, s2ks are viewed with a bit of respect hey deserve.
I test drove an SLK 350 and put it through some twisties, and was a bit alarmed at how the tail seemed to be swinging out. The 6 speed shifter felt a bit "clunky" when pushed. And the steering just wasn't crisp compared with the s2k. But the SLK WAS exactly what MB claims it is --- a luxury sport roadster ---- not an all out sports car. My local MB dealer is the first to say that the SLK is not in competition with the s2k, Boxter S and the like. Rather it is in a bit different market segment. There is, of course, the V8 powered SLK 55 AMG that does have sports car suspension, with enough torque and ponies to back it up. But the 55 AMG isn't in the market segment with the s2k either ---- as it costs more than twice as much.
Thanks,
Richard
