Future s2K prices?
Hey everyone I just wanted to get your opinion on where you think S2000 prices will be in say 5 years? Lately it seems like prices have been staying put if not even slightly rising for clean low mileage s2k's. I would just like to hear what all of you think. Thanks

I think a clean unmolested AP1 with 40-60k on the odometer will run you around 20k. I think AP2's will be a little more. People will miss the "raw" feeling of a car as technology dumbs down the feel of a sporty car and the S will be even more desired. It's going to follow the NSX lines of value. I wouldn't be shocked 10 years from now a clean AP1 will fetch 30k. Call me crazy, but I don't think I am.

Consider a s2000 an investment already.. All im doing to this car is keeping it as oem as possible.. You will always get your money back if you use your head and never take less than what you ask for when selling it unless you are really desperate for the money.

After 13 years on the market, its safe to say prices have probably bottomed on AP1s. Assuming condition and mileage is kept within check, I can't envision prices going any lower. Look at Integra GSR's, Civic Si's 240SX's and other hot sport compacts from the old days. I was in the market for those ten years ago. Looking at prices now, nothing has changed. I expect a same or better future for the S2000 as it's truly a one of a kind car with nothing like it in it's class.

Relative stock ones will hold or go up in value. Its getting harder to find good unmolested S2000s
On the other hand, ones with rolled fenders, picnic tables for rear wings, and have had things like the cruise control removed to "clean up the engine bay" will contine to drop in value....once the generation doing this moves on to the next "hot used car" these molested s2000s will be on the market and folks will be trying to find OEM parts to put them back to original---- that will drive up the value of unmolested ones

It really is a classic from an objective point of view. No goofy electronic stuff that will be dated. Just pure car, pure engine, pure air. Thinking real hard about getting a short block in a few years before they stop making them. Keep it going for the kids when I am gone.

I really wonder if that will happen though... you can still get muscle car era crate engines today. I'm hopeful that we won't hit a point anytime soon where an engine is difficult to come by.

Depends what else is on offer. If there FR-S/BRZ gets more power the demand for s2000s might go down. FWIW I bouhgt my 2002 in 2010 for 8400 dollars with 84,000 miles and sold it in 2013 for 10,000 with 113,000 miles so I would guess prices have held/gone up since then. A combination of economic conditions and end of production has kept the values up on these.
